2nd Shore Crab

Carcinus Maenas. Painted from dead specimen (stored in formaldehyde for approx 6 months). Based on same drawing as darker crab using colouring from different specimen (probably at different stage in inter-moult). Acrylic paint on paper.

Butterflies

Butterfly. Painted from mounted specimen (body somewhat decomposed). Acrylic on paper (painting has been photographed rather than scanned like other images to prevent loss of detail through scanning on body).
